Samuel C. Hathorn Jr. serves as Independent Director of the Company., He was employed by Trendmaker Homes, Inc. from 1981 until his retirement in September 2007. He served as President since 1983 and was appointed Chief Executive Officer in January 2007. Trendmaker Homes, Inc. was a Houston, Texas-based homebuilding and land development subsidiary of Weyerhaeuser Company. Mr. Hathorn has also held senior executive and financial positions with several public corporations and served as a director of Burnup & Sims Inc. from 1981 until 1997 and of Hartman Commercial Properties REIT, a publicly-traded real estate investment trust, from 2000 to 2005. Mr. Hathorn first served on the Company’s Board of Directors from its inception in 1985 to September 1993 while also serving as a Burnup & Sims Inc. director and representative during the Company’s formative years. He returned to our Board in June 1997 and has served as a director since that time. Mr. Hathorn’s extensive expertise as a seasoned financial executive, his professional business acumen and his intimate knowledge of our business qualify him to serve on our Board.
